The Blog
Choosing a location for your senior photos sets the tone for the whole session. The location should help reflect your personality and should be a place that feels authentic to you. One of the things I love most about Seattle senior photography is the incredible variety we have here in our city – from modern urban backdrops to wide-open natural landscapes. Here are my favorite Seattle-area locations for high school senior photoshoots and why they work so well.

If you want a mix of an urban feel, cool architecture, artistic sculpture, AND beach/nature this is the spot for you! I love this park because it has everything – including views of the Space Needle and if we’re lucky, a ferry crossing the water! Variety is key in Senior photos because let’s face it – there are only so many poses and outfits you can wear. The Olympic Sculpture Park has so many options to choose from – I deliver HUGE galleries from this location. With it’s mix of bold sculptures, waterfront views, and a secret beach – the possibilities are endless. The light here is gorgeous, especially in the evening, and you get a combination of textures and looks all in one place.

This is one of my go-to hidden gems (and a great add-on to Olympic Sculpture park) and is a great senior photo location. A rooftop garage gives you a rough – urban vibe, cool architecture, leading lines, and a minimal aesthetic that keeps the focus on you.

Discovery Park is one of my favorite senior photo locations for a nature-inspired session. The large field of tall-grass at Discovery Park is flattering for EVERYONE, pair that with a gorgeous golden hour sunset with mountains/water in the distance = *chef’s kiss! I also like utilizing the chapel area and stone wall for some variety.
This location is ideal if you’re wanting a relaxed, nature vibe. The overall look of photos can change depending on time of day (harsh sun, golden hour or moody clouds). I’ve shot under all conditions with fabulous results each time!

The Edmonds waterfront area is such a beautiful location for senior photos. Between the beach, mountain views, and the iconic ferry, it is the perfect location for a beachy pacific northwest session.

Golden hour here is magic. Perfect for seniors who want:
If you love flowers, color, and a more whimsical feel, Scattered Seeds is a great option! Depending on the season, you’ll find rows of blooms that create a soft, feminine backdrop. The property also has a gorgeous pond, swing, and some cool structures.

Choosing the location for your Seattle senior photo session is the first FUN part of the whole process! We can design your session around your interests and what most feels like you. Whether you’re looking for edgy, urban, artistic, nature or a mix of these, I hope these ideas gave you an idea of where to start. It’s important to choose a location that feels most aligned with who you are – not just what looks good on Instagram.
If you’re starting to think about your senior photos, now is the perfect time to begin planning. Locations, outfits, and timing all come together to create a session that feels effortless and fun. And the best part? We’ll choose a location (or two!) that truly fits your vibe.
